A name or place entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates it. That provider processes the request and supplies its result. We do not keep a separate log of the terms entered into those tools.

We retain a message sent by email as needed to respond. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

The content identifies where Montmorency County records may be requested from the sheriff, the 88th District and 26th Circuit courts, the Michigan State Police Criminal Justice Information Center, and the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not compiled into a report about another person.
Access to government records is governed by the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 et seq., including its response and exemption provisions. Michigan State Police collection of criminal-history and biometric information is addressed by MCL 28.242. Public registry availability and restricted uses are addressed by MCL 28.730. Those laws govern the official custodians, not a separate database on this website.
